How much walking will we be doing?

The Upper Loop Tour is typically 1-2 miles and the Lower Loop is generally about 3-4 miles. Because this is a fully private tour, we can do as much or as little walking as you would like! Winter Tours are 1 mile or less of walking.

How much time will we spend in the van?

The Lower Loop is roughly 3 hours of in park driving 125 miles. On the Upper Loop tour we cover about 160 miles and spend approx 4 hours in the van in the park. The Winter Tour is 100 miles of in park driving. There are frequent opportunities to stop for the bathroom, to go on small walks to view breath taking landscapes, and of course we make many stops for wildlife.

What should we bring to wear?

Your guides start most mornings with a hot coffee, beanie, and a jacket. Some days call for a thick jacket and other days you can get away with a thin layer in the morning. Be sure to check the weather before you come, it can snow in July in Yellowstone!

What else is there to do for fun in the area?

The Grand Tetons are connected to Yellowstone National Park and are our #1 recommendation! They are roughly 2.5 hours from Yellowstone and you can get there by driving through Yellowstone or around through Idaho and enter through Jackson Hole, WY. Many of our guests book other tours such as fly fishing, whitewater rafting, or go horseback riding.  We love Yellowstone Hot Springs and Norris Hot Springs. Be sure to check out the Wolf and Grizzly Discovery Center in West Yellowstone.

If you want to do more exploring off the beaten path, we recommend using the app AllTrails to find an adventure that suits your needs.
